Relaxation Coaching is not a replacement for traditional talk therapy, psychotherapy, or medical treatments. It can work in conjunction with these or as a stand-alone tool for many, although there can be contraindications. What is mindfulness?

The practice of bringing your full attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and non-judgment.

Allows you to observe your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings as they are without trying to change or resist them.

Brings awareness through "simply noticing" in its ability to shift attention from automatic, reactive patterns to intentional, conscious observation.

By noticing and accepting what’s happening in the present moment, your awareness naturally expands to include subtle information that was previously overlooked.
What is the the vagus nerve and autonomic nervous system?

The vagus nerve is a key player in the parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) branch of the autonomic nervous system, which mindfulness activates. This helps counteract the fight-or-flight response, promoting calmness and emotional stability. You can read more about polyvagal theory.

Stimulating vagal tone with mindfulness improves communication between the brain and body. This supports the regulation of emotions, enabling you to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively to perceived stressors.

By focusing on the breath and other bodily sensations during mindfulness, you engage the vagus nerve, creating a feedback loop that enhances awareness of internal states and facilitates the release of stored emotional tension.

Is this therapy?

Relaxation Coaching isn't therapy. This process is self-actualized, meaning you are in the driver's seat. We are exploring your internal world to clear out anything stopping you from fulfilling your true inner potential.

Becoming more aware as a way of life might be part of a traditional therapy experience, but not the sole focus. Relaxation coaching is holistic approach to mindful practice, working to untangle and free the roots of suffering.
What does the process look like?
